Back in May, the over 60s St Georges Walking Football team proudly emerged as the winners of the Mauro Sadocco XXI Memorial Cup, the Italian Cup 2025. The event took place in Milan, and the trophies were officially presented Sunday during England’s training session.
In the picture from the left, we have Mark Potts, Ian Nicholls, Billy Morrison, Ken Hitchell, Steve Falconer, and Kevin Mooney. It's important to also extend a special mention to Pete Davenport, who was an integral part of the team's success and involved of the organisation of the event, but unfortunately couldn't be present for the ceremony. We were also missing Frank White, who put in an excellent performance at the tournament, scoring the winning penalty!
The honour of presenting the trophies was bestowed upon their captain, Steve Falconer, who led the team to victory with pride and determination. The team were unbeaten throughout the tournament, coming up some tough opposition.
